Gerhard J. Haas Award

Purpose: To honor an IFT member for creative research in microbial aspects of food safety.

Award: $3,000 honorarium and a plaque from IFT

Eligibility: The nominee must be actively doing research in microbial aspects of food safety and be 60 years of age or more before December 15 of the year in which the nomination is submitted. The creativity of the research will be a major criterion.

Special Instructions:

Please submit the following documents with your nomination:

  • Nomination statement; must not be more than four typed pages. Do not include a curriculum vitae or lists of publications, but cite relevant supporting material such as patents, news or magazine articles or publications as appropriate to show the significance of the nominee’s current research activities in microbial food safety.
